Description
Boron Nitride, also known as Borazon, Boron Mononitride.
Boron Nitride is a heat and chemical-resistant boron and nitrogen compound with the chemical formula BN. Hexagonal BN is the counterpart of graphite. It is the most stable and softest polymorph and therefore acts as a lubricant and cosmetic additive.
– Due to excellent thermal and chemical stability, BN ceramics contributes to high-temperature equipment and metal casting. The rare wurtzite Boron Nitride variant is similar to lonsdaleite but slightly softer than the cubic form.
– Since BN has a variety of excellent properties, it is helpful for automatic welding coatings for high-temperature resistant frames, high-frequency induction furnace materials, and semiconductor solid-phase admixtures. In addition, it also contributes to the structural materials of atomic reactors, radar antenna media, rocket engine components, etc.
– Due to its excellent lubricating properties, the high-temperature lubricant and a release agent for many models use it. Molded BN can be used to manufacture high-temperature crucibles and other products.
– Due to the characteristics of low processing surface temperature and few surface defects of parts, an abrasive material for metal processing usually use it.
– Boron Nitride fiber is an inorganic synthetic engineering material made of BN. It plays a key role in the chemical industry, textile industry, aerospace technology, and other cutting-edge industrial sectors.
